“The Evil Never Die”, is a contemporary painting on paper mounted on canvas.by Philipe Croq. 

Philipe Croq’s drawing and painting invite us to dream and dialogue with our childhood: dreamlike forms, the world of the circus, animal, human and plant figures, sometimes evanescent, sketched, imperfect, images that leave us free to tell ourselves stories.

For more spontaneity, Philippe Croq first works on paper, only once his painting is finished does he marble it onto the canvas. Here the perforated page seems to have been torn from a binder before being glued. Far from trying to hide the imperfections of the collage, the artist seems to have provoked them and even brought them to the fore, at least as the left-hand border of the painting suggests, giving it a real authenticity.
