“Sitting puppy 2”, wise and faithful doggie.

“Sitting Puppy 2” is a ceramic work by the contemporary artist Bennie.
Raku is a ceramic firing technique developed in 16th century Japan. The meaning of the ideogram for raku-yaki emphasises the serendipity of the firing process. The glazed sculptures were fired at 950 degrees, and the thermal shock produced the cracks in a completely random way. The object is then smoked, which blackens and enhances these accidents.
Animal sculptures dominate Bennie’s various artistic projects: bears, pandas, dogs and birds make up an endearing bestiary. The artist addresses the child in us. Through the prism of artistic creation, the animal is a reassuring and friendly being, all round, soft to the touch. It calls for a caress and sympathy.
A sweet subject that lends itself particularly well to the raku technique. We are completely in love with these well-behaved doggies! They are the perfect size to keep you company on your desk or in your reading corner.
The “Sitting Puppy 2”, to be given as a gift or as a present, will bring a touch of softness to your home.
It will also form a nice set with
“Sitting Puppy 1” and “Sitting Puppy 3“.
