DID YOU SAY DAUPHINE?
The Maison Dauphine is located next to the Place des Quatre Dauphins and its fountain, which form the heart of the Mazarin district.
It is also for another reason that we have named this house “Dauphine”. In French monarchical vocabulary, “dauphin” is an honorary title that designates the King’s heir prince, descendant of the King. By extension, in common parlance, the “dauphin” is the person who ranks immediately after the first or the winner.
Surrounded by some of the most beautiful private mansions in the city, our more modest house has preserved its architectural advantages, and is well-deserving of its title of “dauphine”…
